The southside one. Smaller than Beenleigh, and people who use both will tell you the wool is better here.
Getting here
Avison Street runs off Beaudesert Road, in among the light industrial units — we’re number 4, look for the pink sign. Free parking right outside. Moorooka station is about eight minutes’ walk and the 100 and 110 both stop on Beaudesert Road.
Getting in
Step-free from the car park, no lip at the door. Accessible toilet on site. It’s a smaller floor than Beenleigh so the aisles are tighter, but there’s nothing we can’t bring out to you — just ask at the counter. Chairs by the wool wall and by the window.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the quiet ones. Saturday mornings get busy. If crowds are difficult, come mid-week and say so when you arrive.
What's in here
Fabric along the back wall — wovens, quilting cottons, knits, and a decent flannelette section in winter. Haberdashery in the drawers by the counter. The wool and yarn corner is the best of the three sites and it's where Tuesday's knit & natter happens. Handmade emporium shelves by the door. No classroom here, so the sewing classes run at Beenleigh.
Bringing donations
Bags and boxes are welcome any time we're open. If it's a car boot or more, ring first so someone can help you unload, or take it to the Meadowbrook warehouse.
A bit of history
Moorooka opened in 2024 because too many people were driving to Logan. It's run almost entirely by volunteers who live within a few suburbs of it.
